Young-hwan Cha, CEO of KTNET, had a meeting with 1st Deputy Minister Laziz Sh. KUDRATOV of Uzbekistan's Ministry of Investment & Foreign Trade at Lotte Hotel in Sogong-dong on December 14, and discussed the current status of the 'Public e-Marketplace' construction project, also known as the phase 1 'Uzbekistan National e-Trade Platform Project' that KTNET is currently constructing, and consulted on the promotion of the phase 2 'Paperless Trade Single Window' Project.

At the meeting that was held at the official request of Deputy Minister Kudratov, who visited Korea as a member of the delegation of Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Minister Kudratov expressed his expectation that the establishment of a public e-commerce platform in Uzbekistan, called 'TradeUZ.com', would greatly contribute to the export promotion of Uzbekistan SMEs, and gave his appreciation for KTNET's efforts and support.

Moreover, recognizing that e-commerce and e-trade/ logistics/ customs infrastructure are needed to set the roadmap for continued economic growth in Uzbekistan, the Uzbekistan government revealed that the e-trade single window construction project was selected as an additional bilateral cooperation agenda with the Korean government, and requested KTNET's cooperation to promote the project quickly.

For the sustainable economic development of Uzbekistan, CEO Young-Hwan Cha emphasized the digital transformation of additional trade operations, namely enhancing the TradeUZ.com platform by providing trade information, multi-posting, support for customer discovery, and establishing hub-based functions for the public e-commerce platform in the CIS region, etc., and the establishment of an electronic trade single window and certification of an origin management system.

In response to CEO Young-hwan Cha's explanation that the Korea Electronic Trade System has lowered incidental costs and time for the trade industry by quickly, transparently, and predictably handling trade procedures and tasks, and contributed to strengthening the competitiveness of the trading industry, Uzbekistan reinforced the need for digitalization of trade operations and requested KTNET to continuously support capability-building for Uzbekistan-related personnel.
